Flagship Design Studio
Sacramento City CollegeThe Challenge
The primary challenge was to create a user-friendly experience (UX) that effectively presented content. The previous website’s content structure and navigation system made it difficult for visitors to discover Flagship’s unique program. To address this, a comprehensive redesign effort was initiated to align the website with the brand’s identity and enhance engagement.
A key aspect of the redesign was the creation of visually captivating mockups and engaging copywriting to enhance the user experience. In total, 17 pages were built, each carefully organized to ensure ease of understanding and navigation. The redesign efforts culminated in a website that not only addressed the initial challenges but also embodied the essence of Flagship Design Studio’s brand while providing a valuable platform for users.
The Process
Client Interview
Our team interviewed the Art Director to understand Flagship’s needs and preferences. We discussed the project scope, including its purpose, target audience, and desired outcomes, while also clarifying deliverables. Additionally, we addressed the client’s visual preferences and established timelines and budget constraints to ensure alignment with their expectations and requirements.
Ideation Phase
During the ideation phase, we synthesize the insights from the client interview and secondary research to generate creative solutions. Here, I brainstormed a variety of creative solutions that directly addressed the client’s needs and preferences effectively. These concepts were then translated into initial wireframes to facilitate client feedback and ensure we were on the same page from the outset.
Wireframes
Ever wonder how websites go from rough ideas to polished experiences? Wireframing is the secret weapon that bridges the gap! Imagine a wireframe as a blueprint for your website. It’s a visual guide that maps out the page layout, content areas, and navigation elements, without getting bogged down in the details of colors or graphics.
So why are wireframes so helpful? They allow us to focus on the core functionality and user flow of your website before we dive into design. This means we can test and refine the structure early on, ensuring your website is intuitive and easy for visitors to navigate. By ironing out any kinks with wireframes first, we save you time and money in the long run, and ultimately create a website that delivers a smooth and successful user experience.
Iteration Phase
Once we had polished the design concept through wireframe review and collaboration, we entered the exciting website build phase, transforming approved wireframes into a functional and visually appealing website. This process involved iterative refinement as we brought the client’s vision to life, ensuring it aligned perfectly with their brand identity and objectives. Throughout the build phase, we worked closely with the client to gather content that captured their brand essence, offering support in content creation, including vibrant images and engaging copy, to ensure the website stood out.
Delivery Phase
After final art direction approval and confirmation that all project goals were met, the website was successfully launched.
